A total of 260 HASiL officers throughout Sabah have been involved in operations involving company and business taxation audit activities, submission of notification notices prior to the action of lawsuits, audits of employers’ Monthly Tax Deductions (PCB), submission of summonses and arrears notices, submission of notices of failure to comply with company cases (CP204) and individual or business cases (CP500) and business census visits.
Ops Borneo 2.0 was launched by HASiL Sabah Director Azrul Hisham Shamsudin in a ceremony attended by the Director of the Investigation Department, Tax Compliance Department, Intelligence and Profiling Department as well as senior management of HASiL Sabah and Sarawak.
Azrul was optimistic that the compliance visit operation could have a positive effect in terms of collection in addition to increasing the rate of compliance among taxpayers as well as reducing the leakage of tax revenue, further contributing to the sustainability of the country’s revenue collection.
The operation is expected to achieve its objective of supporting the agenda of expanding the tax base as well as increasing the compliance rate among the community for the development and wellbeing of the national taxation ecosystem.
