40-year-old killed in Kota Kinabalu mishap

Kota Kinabalu: A 40-year-old man was killed when his Toyota Crown crashed into the pedestrian bridge’s pillar near Chung Hwa School, here, Wednesday. 

Chee Teck Kok, 40, from Keningau, was pronounced dead on the spot following the accident at about 12.50am.

His cousin said the deceased was believed to be returning home to Donggongon from the city centre when the accident happened.

The deceased is believed to be working in the tourism industry and has a son.

Firefighters led by Welson Juanis were deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 12.58am.

It took the team close to an hour to retrieve the man’s body from the wreckage.
