SUKMA: Sabah sending strongest contingent

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy call from the Malaysia Games (Sukma) and Para Sukma XXI Main Committee led by Sarawak Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Minister Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah at his office in Menara Kinabalu, here, Thursday.

In addition to briefing on Sarawak’s preparations, Abdul Karim also handed over an official invitation letter to Hajiji to attend the opening ceremony of Sukma XXI in Sarawak which will be held in August and Para Sukma to be held a month later.

Hajiji said Sabah would send the strongest contingent to participate in Sukma and Para Sukma XXI Sarawak to give great competition to other states including host Sarawak.

He is confident that Sukma this time will be good because Sarawak can do the best.

While Abdul Karim said Sukma XXI Sarawak is only 58 days away and all the preparations are already well organised with the games to be held in 9 parts of Sarawak.

He said Sabah was the last state visited by the Sukma and Sukma XXI Main Committee after visiting all states including Brunei Darussalam.

Abdul Karim’s entourage consisted of Sarawak Women, Children and Community Welfare Minister Dato Sri Hajah Fatimah Abdullah and her Deputy Minister Datuk Hajah Rosey Yunus, Sukma XXI Sarawak Chief Executive Officer Datuk Hii Chang Ker, Sarawak Women’s Development, Children and Community Wellbeing Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datuk Felicia Tan, Sarawak Youth, Sports and Sarawak Entrepreneur Development Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Morshidi Fredrick and Sarawak Social Welfare Department Director Haji Semawi Mohamad.

Also present were Sabah Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ellron Angin and his Assistant Minister Datuk Fairuz Renddan, State Government Secretary Datuk Seri Sr. Safar Untong and Sabah Youth and Sports Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datuk Mansur Asun.
