Kuala Lumpur: Taiwan Excellence advances its sustainability initiatives through artistic creation! For the first time, Taiwan Excellence is collaborating with renowned Malaysian street artist Kenji Chai and SMK SS17 High School to create a two-story tall campus mural meant to convey the positive message of environmental conservation.
Taiwan Excellence will be participating in this year's ARCHIDEX with the theme “Greener Together” to highlight its continued commitment to a more sustainable future.
Kenji Chai started preparations on June 19, with the mural featuring the majestic Malayan tiger. It's highly anticipated and sure to impress!
In addition to showcasing innovative green building materials, Taiwan Excellence has decided to reach out to the future movers of the country by extending its efforts into Malaysian campuses.
Renowned artist Kenji Chai, along with 10 students from SMK SS17, will create mural featuring the Malayan tiger and Taiwan Excellence's Formosa Bear on a wall on campus.
This visual art project seeks to transform sustainability concepts into tangible visual art, convey environmental conservation ideas and enhance the spatial aesthetics.
Kenji Chai, renowned for his nature and animal-themed art, creatively blends sustainability with local Malaysian features in his latest mural.
The highly anticipated mural will feature iconic native animals such as the proboscis monkey.
At the start of his work on June 19th, Kenji Chai explained that he wants to express the spirit of 'cherishing' and 'courage' in this mural.
He hopes that his art will inspire others to cherish the environment and things around them.
The intricate design on the Malayan tiger represents the myriad life's challenges that everyone faces and encourages everyone to draw from the strength within everyone in order to face any difficulties, no matter how complex, with courage and determination.
Kenji Chai and SMK SS17 students collaborated to create a large campus mural, conveying important conservation concepts.
SMK SS17 is dedicated to holistic education, offering inclusive special education classes and promoting a culture of care and inclusion.
The school aims to instil environmental responsibility in students, moulding them into a strong foundation for a sustainable ecosystem of tomorrow.
This tripartite collaboration, led by Taiwan Excellence, crosses many boundaries and holds significant meaning to everyone involved.
This large mural, measuring 20 feet high and 26 feet wide, is expected to be completed within a week by the end of June.
Those unable to see it in person are welcomed to visit the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion at ARCHIDEX 2024 (Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Hall 2, Booth 2L180) from July 3 to 6 to learn more.
