Eye-screening for rural folks

PENAMPANG: Pupils in three schools here – SK Kipovo, SK Moyog and SK Sugud – received free spectacles under a “Caring for sight” programme.
Main sponsor Fondation L’Occitane in, collaboration with Pertubuhan Mata Kasih and Spectruck, gave out 365 pairs of spectacles also to new users and senior citizens.

L’Occitane has been working with NGOs in building awareness towards blindness prevention, especially among communities that lack access to proper eye care for more than 20 years as well as initiatives to combat avoidable blindness.
With the RM80,000 fund being donated since their “Race For Vision 2023”, Pertubuhan Mata Kasih KL brought their mobile truck from Johor to Sabah to conduct professional eye screening and free glasses to people in rural areas.
The event was officiated by vice president of Star Datuk Kenny Chua.
Over 600 villagers were screened and 365 spectacles distributed to children and senior citizens from B40 group.
