KOTA KINABALU: A man stranded with his father-in-law's body near the Kota Belud junction along Ranau-Tamparuli Road on Sunday morning was reported to have arrived in Bongawan, Papar.

In a Facebook post, Mohd Ariff Ahmad also mentioned that a paramedic from Tuaran Hospital arrived at the location to confirm his father-in-law's death.

"After that, I contacted a friend to get assistance with a hearse service.

"After waiting for two and a half hours, the hearse from Ketiau, Putatan, arrived, and the journey to deliver the body to Bongawan continued, where it was taken care of by the family upon arrival," he said.

Earlier, around 10am on Sunday, Mohd Ariff's journey from Sandakan to Bongawan was halted due to a vehicle breakdown.

He shared the incident in a 30-minute live video on Facebook.

According to his post, he intended to take his father-in-law to the village, but he passed away en route, and they were stranded due to the vehicle's breakdown.

The post went viral and attracted much attention before several residents from Bongawan, and Facebook users informed that the body had arrived in Bongawan.
