Most stilted houses were safe, but not the rest.
“This time the flood reached the road and passable only by four-wheel drive vehicles and lorries. Small cars like the Perodua Kancil were stranded,” he said.
Membakut Community Development Officer Donatus Maiting said Kg Jambatan Baru was also flooded.
He advised residents to be careful during his inspection at the affected areas.

“Make sure children don’t play during the flood season because we don’t know what will happen. We don’t know what’s in the flood water. There could be snakes or other poisonous cratures,” he said.
He advised residents to closely monitor their children’s movements to avoid tragedy.

“The situation is still under control for now. If it worsens we will call the Fire and Rescue Department and Civil Defence Force to act,” he added.
