Kota Kinabalu: The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), through the Submarine Command Headquarters, made history by setting a Malaysia Book of Records achievement for the largest underwater clean-up, involving 153 divers and 1,112 participants.
The achievement was part of the Jiwa Murni Programme called Borneo Ultra Cleanup (BUOC) 3/2024, held at Teluk Likas public park for land clean-up and at 13 dive spots, including nine in Taman Laut Tengku Abdul Rahman, two near the beach and two at Pulau Sepanggar.

The programme collected 1,434kg of waste with 1,100.49kg collected on land and 323kg collected at sea.
The BUOC resulted in the collection of 123kg of glass, 300kg of plastic, 76.6kg of aluminum and 600.89kg of other items.
