Kota Kinabalu: A 33-year-old man was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here Monday with cheating a man of RM40,000 over a purported mosque project in Pitas, last year.

Rudi allegedly committed the offence on May 9, 2023, at noon, Grace Point, Jalan Sembulan here.
The charge under Section 420 of the Penal Code provides a jail term of up to 10 years, and whipping and also liable to fine, on conviction.
Inspector Kelvan Elson Maik in applying for a mention date, proposed bail at RM5,000 in two sureties.
Unrepresented, Rudi applied a lower bail amount.

Rosman Betan admitted voluntarily causing hurt to the 16-year-old boy on May 25, this year, at 7.45pm, in a house at Taman Sentosa, Kg Ketiau, Putatan.
However, the court deferred the facts and sentencing to Aug 12 while waiting for the victim’s medical report.
Rosman was offered bail at RM1,000 in a surety pending the date.
Earlier, the prosecution proposed bail at RM2,000 in two sureties.
Rosman, who was not represented, applied for a lower bail amount as he has no fix income.
He was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to one year or fine of up to RM2,000 or both, on conviction.
