PETALING JAYA: Five people, including a married couple, were brought to three separate courts today on terrorism-related charges, including of supporting the Islamic State (IS) and possessing materials linked to the terrorist group.
Kosmo reported that Feesol Haron, 35, and his wife Suhaini Sarwan, 46, were charged separately in the Johor Bahru sessions court with possessing materials linked to IS and terrorist acts on their mobile phones.
They allegedly committed the offence at a factory in the Kempas Industrial Park at around 1.10pm and 1.15pm on May 30.
Firdaus Kamal Intdzam was charged with committing the same offence in front of a factory on Jalan Perniagaan Setia 6, Taman Perniagaan Setia, at around 6.15pm on May 30.
Suhaini meanwhile faces two more charges of supporting IS via two Facebook accounts under the names of “Suhaini Sarwan” and “Enma Kenma”. The offence was allegedly committed at the Special Branch’s counter-terrorism division in Kuala Lumpur at 5.50pm, May 27.
The court set July 30 for case remention and the appointment of lawyers.

Unemployed man Hasbullah Hassan, 45, was also charged in the Segamat sessions court with one count of supporting IS and another of possessing materials linked to the terrorist group.
According to a report by Bernama, he is accused of supporting IS by promoting the group on a Facebook account bearing his name. The offence was allegedly committed at the Special Branch’s counter-terrorism division at 9am on March 23, 2023.
Hasbullah is also charged with possessing videos, photographs and items about IS’s activities, an offence allegedly committed at Jalan Teratai Dua, Felda Palong Timur Tiga, Batu Anam, Segamat at 12.30pm on May 30, this year.
The court denied him bail in accordance with Section 13 of the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 and set July 24 for the next mention of the case and submission of expert reports.
Bernama reported that restaurant worker Muzzammil Mohlis, 35, was also charged in the Kuala Lumpur sessions court with three counts of terrorism-related offences.
He was charged with supporting IS via a Facebook account under the name of “Ibn Nuhas” and on Telegram under the name of “Wilayah Maliziyah” at the Special Branch’s counter-terrorism division at 4.50pm on May 31.
In the second charge, Muzzammil was accused of possessing articles and videos related to IS at the same location, date, and time.
In the third, he was accused of admitting to being a member of the group after performing a ceremony with group leader Abu Hafs al-Hashimi al-Qurashi at an apartment unit in Jalan Cheras, Batu 4 in May this year.
The court set Aug 29 for case remention and submission of documents related to the case.
