Kota Kinabalu: Ag Damit B. Suran captured the gross title in the Charity Golf tournament organised by the Education Pensioners Golf Club (KGPES) held at the Kinabalu Golf Club, Tanjung Aru, on Sunday.
His score of 42 for nine holes edged second placed Abd Wahib Gani (44) by two shots and in third place was Alli Majittaba (46).

The top three positions in the nett category went to Johnny Soimpon (35), Azwan Kalimung (36), Ahmad Jamalul Nahar (37) for the men’s, and Dg Mariah Pg Bujang (41), Jovita Ludgerus (43), Datin Buhaseh Sakunir (50) for the ladies’, while Julius J. Gala (36), Datuk Dr Dayu b. Sansalu (37) and Hj Agku Ali Pg Jumaat (48) were the top three winners in the super senior category.
In the invitees event, Azimal Liddi (36) took the gross title ahead of Poungin Ransoi (37) and Dr Rayner Alfred (37).
The men’s nett title went to Jeffry Mohd Yussof (31) with Hj Sabdin Saribin(32) and Chali Awang in second and third place respectively, while the top three winners in the ladies nett were Habibah Abdullah (34), Jenny Lim (34) and Doreen Kunsiong (37).
Muhd Harith Hafiy (36) was the winner in the junior category followed by Azlan Afify Adam (37) and Muhd Amsir Najib (37).

The VIP nett title won by Johari J. Sabin (34). Second place went to Haison Jahudin (35) with Datu Roslin Datu Siabol (37) in third, while the top three places in the VVIP nett category were Datuk Hj Raisin Hj Saidin (35), Dsp Dr Joachim Gunsalam (41) and Aslie Sahat (42).
The closing ceremony in the evening was officiated by Deputy Chief Minister II, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam who is also the Patron for KGPES.

He praised the organisers led by chairman Asli Sahat in getting former educators to come together with some other non-retired people to participate in the charity event aimed to boost their coffers for donations to the needy.
“Activities such as golf are one of the recreational activities of club members. Besides making the body healthy, it also allows these retirees to meet each other,” he said.
He congratulated all the winners and hopes the event will be held again next year.
He also presented donations to Sekolah Agama Rakyat Kampung Bandulan, Manggatal, Sabah Ex-Teachers Association, Papar Old Folks’ Home in Kinarut, Papar and Kota Kinabalu Widows’ Association.
Also present at the ceremony were KGPES deputy chairman, Dr. Lidi Salun, vice president I, Haji Awangku Ali Pg Jumaat and vice president II, Datuk Kamarlin Ombi.
