LAHAD DATU: The empowerment of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) among the younger generation is the key to developing adaptive Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) talent which will drive the country towards a high-tech nation by 2030.
Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti) Deputy Minister Datuk Mohd Yusof Apdal said Mosti has set the STEM empowerment agenda as one of its priorities for 2024 and is actively implementing various activities and non-formal education programmes to complement the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) efforts.
“This aims to increase the interest and involvement of the general public, especially school students and youths, in the STEM field,” he said when opening a workshop at SK St Dominic, here, Thursday.
The two-day programme, one of the initiatives of the STEM Camp MOSTI Program 2024, was organised in collaboration with University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM) and the Royal Microscopical Society (Great Britain).
