Kota Kinabalu: Api-Api Assemblywoman Datuk Christina Liew sponsored the second term school fees totalling RM10,000 for five needy students of Kian Kok Middle School.
They are Jackson Lim Kian Kin (Senior 3), Then Qi En (Junior 2), Candace Lee Wen Xuan (Junior 1), Ethan Lim Hong Hao (Junior 2), and Lucas Lo Wen Kang (Junior 1), who are raised by single mothers or whose parents are low-income earners or unemployed.
“I understand these students are bright sparks who deserve some form of assistance. My contribution is to help ease the financial burden faced by the students’ parents who are struggling to make ends meet,” Liew said when handing over the cash aid to the Chairman of the School Board of Governors Datuk Clement Yeh at her office on Monday.
School Principal Goh Teck Seng expressed his gratitude to Liew for her kind gesture.
Also present were 1st Vice-Chairman/School Supervisor Edwin Koh Tze Eak, School Mentor Tressie Yap, and Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) graduate Emma Evelyn Pang.
