The launch was officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor who said that the State Government which was concerned with the problems of the students regarding the high cost of airline tickets had for the first time provided an RM600 subsidy for airline tickets through the Graduan Rindu Sabah (SubFly) to all Sabah students studying in public and private universities in peninsula, Sarawak and Labuan in March this year with an allocation of RM10 million.
The launch ceremony also saw the Sabah Education Fund (TPNS) receive an injection of another RM7.7 million, contributed by various government-linked companies (GLCs) and generous organisations.
