50 mantis prawns seized
The skipper with the Mantis prawns and equipment from the pump boat seized by MPF.
SEMPORNA: The Marine Police Force (MPF) here, Thursday, detained a 38-year-old man and seized a total of 50 mantis prawns worth about RM3,000.

The MPF team was patrolling near Bohey Dulang islands following Ops Taring Gelora when they apprehended a pump boat at about 11am.

Sabah Region Four MPF Commander, ACP Ariffin Ahmad said, inspection found a total of 50 Mantis prawns filled in bottles.

“The Mantis prawns were brought without documents and fishing licence, an offence under Fisheries Act 1986,” he said.

Ahmad added that the skipper as well as all the seizures estimated worth RM7,350 were taken to Semporna MPF base for further action.
