KENINGAU: Hyril Ariff from Explosive Gym Beaufort won the title of Mr Sabah 2024 in the Champion of Champions category at the State level Bodybuilding and Physique Championship-Mr Sabah 2024 held at the community hall here on Saturday.
Meanwhile, PDRM emerged as team champions by collecting 144 points while Legendz Fitz Gym from Membakut were second with 89 points.
Hisham Dzid from JS Gym Putatan and Daphne Darlene Pain from Prime Fitness Penampang were selected as Best Poser in male and female respectively.
Rezally Golbin from Legendz Fitz Gym Membakut and Fredvanley Lasius from My Village Gym Penampang were selected as Most Improved and Athlete ‘Harapan’ respectively.
The two-day tournament participated by a total of 104 bodybuilding athletes from all over Sabah was officiated by Deputy Chief Minister I cum Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
In the Master 45 category, Rozally Golbin from Legendz Fitz took first place followed by George Saligi from PDRM in second while Yakob Mangkabong from JS Gym Putatan took third.
For the Under-17 category, Machuel Mailin took first place followed by Brayden Callistus and Filemon Shawn Felex in second and third places respectively. All three athletes are from My Village Gym Penampang.
For the 21-year-old category, Fredvanley Lasius (My Village Gym, Penampang) took first place while second and third were Mohamad Dzulkifli Rasul (Legendz Fitz, Membakut) and Warren Lee Hyen Ken (Bull’s Gym Kudat) respectively.
The 60kg and under category was won by Amrun Asmawi Sidie (Aspire Gym @ Fitness, Keningau) with second and third going to John Raymond Anak Achon (Nexus Fitness, Putatan) and Eeelixe Jomin (Nexus Fitness, Putatan) respectively.
Meanwhile, Peridie Kin George from Kuala Penyu Gym & Fitness won first place in the 60.1kg-65kg category while second and third places were won by Kamal Ariffin Abdul Majid (PDRM) and Delvislee Sabidor (Tommy Gym, Kota Marudu).
In the 65.1kg-70kg category, Terence Watis (Legendz Fits Membakut) won first place while second and third spots were won by Teh Chuan Zet (Borneo Gym Hardcore, Kota Kinabalu) and Pitohdoni Galawis (PDRM).
In the 70.1kg-75kg category, Rozally Golbin (Legendz Fitz, Membakut) took first place followed by Heldih Kihog in second and third was Jesse Yong Ming King (PDRM).
Hyril Arif (Explosive Gym Beaufort) won first place in 75.1kg-80kg category followed by Suhaili Toipin @ Masdin (JL Fitness Sabah Gym) and third Yakob Mangkabong (JS Gym Putatan).
The 80.1kg-85kg category was won by Raino Engah (PDRM Keningau) followed by George Jailis, and Warren Dimi (KB Gym Kota Belud) in second and third.
Geinod Loziti took first place in the 85kg and above category with Mohd Asyraf Akhmal Abdullah (PDRM) and Grace Voo (Explosibe Gym Beaufort) in second and third.
Delvislee Sabidor (Tommy Gym Kota Marudu) came first in the ‘Athletic’ ‘Physique’ Male 170cm and Below followed by Kamal Ariffin Abdul Majid (PDRM) and Terence Watis (Legendz Fitz Membaku) in second and third.
The Male ‘Athletic’ Physique 170cm and above category was won by Jesse Yong Ming King (PDRM) followed by Teh Chuan Zet and Mohammad Asraf Hamza (JSG Putatan).
Daphne Darlene Pain (Prime Fitness Penampang) won first place in Female Physique Model followed by Lily Nur Izzaty (USN Malaysia @ JS Gym Putatan) in second and third was Sherly Lonios (Stark Fitness Kota Kinabalu).
Meanwhile, also present at the event to present prizes to the winners were the District Officer who is also the Organiser Co-Chairman Peter Jonu Moinjil, the District Police Chief Superintendent Yampil Anak Garai, the President of the Malaysian Gymnasium Entrepreneur Association and the President of the Kuala Lumpur Body Building Association Krishnakumar A/L Kalimuthu and the Organiser Co-Chairman Clarence Runggi.
