PENAMPANG: The latest property development here, Sky88 Residences@ Bundusan, which is undergoing construction, will not be affected by floods as the developer has taken several prevention measures.

The managing director of its developer, North Borneo Land Properties (S) Sdn Bhd (NBLanD), G.N. Wong, reassured house buyers that they need not worry about flooding affecting Sky88, as it is unlikely to occur.

He said the main reason is because the ground level at the residential park of Sky88 Residences, consisting of luxurious condominiums and penthouses, has been raised up to five feet.

“I can assure you (the housebuyers) that the Sky88 Residences@Bundusan here would not be affected by flooding, especially during monsoon season.

“Apart from the rising ground level on the site project, we have also upgraded the road from the main road into our site, which is better and will not cause a problem.

“The housebuyers should not be worried about the flooding issue as the residential park project will not be flooded in the future or impacted by the natural disaster because we have taken several precautionary measures,” he said while adding that the project is scheduled to be completed in 2026.

Wong said this to reporters after the grand opening of Sky88 Residences @ Bundusan and its sales gallery at Jalan Bundusan here on Sunday.

He was commenting on whether the housing project would be affected by flooding when it is completed in 2026 since Penampang is often hit by flooding, with the latest one on June 30 resulting in one casualty.

Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Ewon Benedick who is also Penampang MP, has officiated the event here on July 7.

For those interested in the Sky88 Residence units, Wong said they can visit the sales gallery, which is open from 9am until 5pm for seven days a week from Monday until Sunday.

He said the selling price of the project is very competitive as the developer provides high-quality workmanship in building the property units.

“Our price is very competitive and we provide good quality workmanship as we have a good track record as we have constructed the SkyVue and SkyMillion.

“I can assure you (housebuyers) that once you buy our units, you will feel very happy because of our quality workmanship, plus the design is unique and modern and it will provide 5-star services,” Wong said.

According to him, there is tremendous interest from housebuyers in the project, as 75 per cent of the 294 units in Tower 1 have sold out, which proves there is a demand for residential and high-rise development.

Meanwhile, Ewon who congratulated the developer of the Sky88 Residences @ Bundusan said the construction of the Sky88 Residence housing here was very timely because the housing issue is still a necessity for residents, especially those who work.

Following the recent launch of the Sabah-Malaysia My Second Home (Sabah-MM2H) programme, he said Sky88 Residence can provide an option for any interested individuals, including expatriates, to own comfortable housing in Sabah.

In the event, Ewon also witnessed the contribution of donations of RM8,000 each in three mock cheques to Sabah Cheshire Home and Services, Persatuan Pengurusan Pusat Jagaan OKU Leshan Kota Kinabalu and One Home Care Centre, from Wong to the three representatives of the charity homes.
