Kota Kinabalu: A concerned Sabahan expressed frustration over the Sabah Water Department’s slow response to a reported pipe leak in Kampung Dambai, Jalan Gudon Batu 10, Manggatal.
The resident, identified only as Lim, claims he informed the Water Department about the leak last Wednesday, but as of today (Monday), no action has been taken to address the issue.
The leak has reportedly left residents without water for over a week, causing significant concern in the community.
“Kampung Dambai residents have been without water for more than a week now. It’s not just inconvenient; it’s becoming a serious worry for everyone,” he said.
Adding to the residents’ frustration, Lim said Water Department personnel visited the area on Monday, but only to check water meters rather than repair the leak.
“They came, but only to check meters. The leak is still there,” Lim said. “I wonder if the public holiday is causing this delay in response.”
Lim, who has also been assisting flood victims in Penampang, hopes by bringing attention to this issue through the media, the Water Department will be prompted to take immediate action.
“Water is precious and it’s being wasted. We need the Water Department to fix this leak as soon as possible,” Lim urged.
