Selling products containing poisons: Husband and wife fined 
The offence was framed under Section 13 (a) of the Poisons Act 1952.
Kota Kinabalu: A couple were fined a total of RM7,500 for having products containing poison for sale without a permit and unregistered products.

Lee Teck Loong, 51, and his wife Tay Pek Sie, 43, pleaded guilty separately before Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan, to the charges against them.

Lee was fined RM3,000 or three months’ jail for having 18 products containing poisons for sale  and he did not have any permit to sell the poisons.

The offence took place at 3.30pm on Apr 13, 2022 at the Kedai Ubat Ria in Wisma Telipok Ria, Tuaran.

Among the poisons detected in the products were  Cloperistine, Cetirizene, and Mefenamic Acid all  listed under the First Schedule of the Poisons Act 1952.

The offence was framed under Section 13 (a) of the Poisons Act 1952.

Meanwhile, Tay on the first count, she was ordered to pay a fine of RM2,000 or two months’ jail for having 10 Ibufen Tablet containing poison for sale at the same place and time as her husband.

On the second count, she was fined RM2,500 or three months’ jail for having one box of Lianhua Qingwen Jiaonang which was not registered with Health Ministry, at the same place and time.
