Kota Kinabalu: The Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry is targeting sales of RM50 million by Sabah’s small and midsize enterprises (SMEs) this year.
Assistant Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Datuk Andi Muhammad Suraydi Bandy said if this target is achieved, the estimated potential sales for Sabah’s SMEs eill increase by 40 percent from last year's RM30.25 million.
The Gulfood Expo in Dubai, Foodex in Tokyo, Thaifex Anuga Asia in Bangkok, World’s Food Expo in Manila, HKTDC Food Expo Pro in Hong Kong, and MIHAS@Dubai are among the expos attended or will be by Sabah SMEs this year.
“As a result of participation in six expos that have already taken place, Sabah SMEs have successfully generated counter sales worth RM830,000 and potential sales of RM30.3 million," said Andi at the State Legislative Assembly Thursday.
