TAWAU: A 27-year-old woman who beat up a woman on suspicion of disturbing her husband, was released on good behavior bond for two years.
Magistrate Don Stiwin Malanjum also asked Asfarani Hamka, to place a RM1, 000 deposit and RM500 to be paid to the court with two local sureties.
The mother of two aged four years and four months who is still breastfeeding, assaulted Nur Fazreena Rhyme @ Reymie at Kedai 2020 Car Accessories 4 X 4, Ba Zhong Commercial Center, at noon on April 19 this year.
“What did you get after the beating? It’s not just the woman’s fault, it’s the man’s fault too... You attacked the woman and got shame only. Do you regret your wrongdoing?,” the court asked Asfarani who just nodded.
Earlier, Asfarani who was represented by lawyer Jhasarry P. Kang from the National Legal Aid Foundation asked for a light sentence as it was her first offence and she remoseful as well as promised not to repeat the offence.
Based on the facts of the case, Asfarani came to the victim’s workplace with her younger brother and hit her (victim) with her hands and pulled the victim’s tudung before being stopped by Asfarani’s husband who worked as a mechanic.
The offense is under Section 323 of the Penal Code for causing injury.
Prosecuting Officer, Inspector Nur Intan Jamrin, conducted the prosecution.
