Kota Kinabalu: The concession company involved has been instructed to increase the frequency of grass-cutting along road shoulders, main roads and protocol roads throughout the city.
In a statement Friday, City Hall (DBKK) said maintaining the cleanliness of the city’s landscape is a top priority. It did not name which of the three concession companies was being referred to.

“This involves implementing a comprehensive plan for regular maintenance, inspections, tree-trimming and grass-cutting to ensure a satisfactory environment for both residents and visitors.
“These efforts ensure that the grass along road shoulders, main roads and protocol roads remains neat and well-kept, thus preventing any discomfort for road users,” it said.
Recently, the DBKK Landscape Department team conducted inspections and monitored the condition of the grass along main roads and protocol roads in Kota Kinabalu.
“Our survey revealed several areas where the grass has grown too long and requires immediate attention from the concession company.

“Given this need, the responsible concession company must take a more proactive role and reassess the maintenance schedule.
“Regular maintenance is crucial to prevent overgrowth and maintain the attractive appearance of Kota Kinabalu, thereby ensuring the comfort of city residents,” it said.
