Star: Sabah Day was when colonial rule ended
Ansabong said the announcement of Hari Sabah (“Sabah Day”) commemorates the date when Sabah became self-governing and independent after the British relinquished their power in North Borneo, which was on Aug 31, 1963, as announced by colonial Governor Sir William Goode at the time.
