SIPITANG: Some 103 families affected by flooding here received mattresses and pillows from Qhazanah Sabah Berhad (QSB).
QSB Chairman and Sindumin Assemblyman Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob presented the contributions to some recipients in Kampung Bahagia on Friday.

He also handed out food baskets contributed by Sipitang MP Datuk Matbali Musa.
Dr Yusof said the mattresses and pillows were part of QSB’s corporate social responsibility as a state-owned company.
He hoped the contributions would help ease the burden on the families affected by the recent floods.
Other recipients of the contributions are residents of Kampung Skim Sindumin and Kampung Luagan.

At the same event, Dr Yusof said the gravel of Kg Bahagia would be upgraded to a concrete road.
The project covers 835 metres with a 3.5-metre-wide concrete road, set to be completed by August 29.

Earlier, at another event in Kampung Kawang Lama, he also announced the upgrade of a 530-metre section of gravel road in the village.
Dr Yusof said the concrete road upgrade would ensure comfort of the residents.
“Concrete road is more durable,” he said, urging the contractors to complete the projects on schedule and according to specifications.
