RANAU: Lew Tze Siong emerged as the overall champion in the Sabah Mountain Bike (MTB) Enduro Race 2.0, 2024 event held at Kilimu Adventure Park, in Kg Kilimu, Ranau recently.
The Malaysian recorded a time of 14 minutes and 22 seconds for all 5 stages at a total distance of 13 kilometres.

The second and third places were also won by Malaysian participants Saiful Bahri Amat Mohtar (14 minutes, 46 seconds) and Mohd Fadzli Alwi Bin Bemawi (15 minutes, 15 seconds).
For the Men Hardcore Hardtail category, Mohd Fitri from Ranau won first place with his time of 18 minutes, 22 seconds, followed by Rickson Jin How Siang from Beaufort (21 minutes, 27 seconds) in second place and Noorezal Abdul Raup from Singapore (21 minutes, 27 seconds) in third.
For the Men Master A category (age 30-39), Saiful Bahri Amat Mohtar from Kuala Lumpur (KL) won in a time of 14 minutes, 46 seconds, followed by Sabahan Terence Rinusin (17 minutes, 21 seconds) and Malaysian Clarie Biteh (18 minutes, 07 seconds).
Mohd Fadzli Alwi Bemawi from KL won the Men Master B category (age 40 – 49) with a time of 15 minutes, 15 seconds, with Joshua Sultan from Miri (16 minutes, 01 seconds) and Brunei’s Hirman Al Rahim (16 minutes, 18 seconds) second and third, respectively.
For the Men Master C category (age 50 and over), Brunei’s Mazlee Noor Metusin took first place (15 minutes, 29 seconds) followed by Fathil Mohd Nazeri - KL (16 minutes, 59 seconds) in second place and Christopher - Sabah (19 minutes, 28 seconds) in third.
For the Men Open (Pro Level) category, Lew Tze Siong - Sabah won with a time of 14 minutes, 22 seconds, followed by Haidir Al Rahman Kabri - Brunei (15 minutes, 22 seconds) and Brenjon - Sabah (15 minutes, 42 seconds).
Meanwhile, Singapore’s Nur Nasthasia Nadiah Abdul Nazzeer won the Women category with a time of 21 minutes, 03 seconds. Eirene Anak Erving - Ranau (22 minutes, 51 seconds) and Tantiesrena Abdul Karim - Singapore (50 minutes, 09 seconds) were in second and third, respectively.
More than 75 competitors from all over the country, as well as Brunei Darussalam and Singapore took part in the event but only 60 were able to finish the race.
The two-day event was officiated by the Ranau District Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBSS) Officer Mohd Shahfri Samiri.
In his speech, he welcomed the presence of all participants and their teams to Sabah, especially in the Ranau district.
“Millions of thanks to all the participants who came from abroad to help make this programme a success. Welcome to Ranau District,” he said.
He also congratulated the organisers and all the committee members involved as well as all the participants involved in making the MTB Enduro Race 2.0 2024 a success.
According to him, KBSS will always support this kind of sports programme, because of its positive impact on all the youth.
