“Additionally, it ensures that only registered pesticides are sold or stored in licensed premises, enabling better supervision over the sale and disposal of pesticides,” she said.

Since July 7 last year, the LRMP e-Licence System has been fully operational for all registered users, digitising the entire licence and permit application process.

The objectives of the LRMP e-License are to automate the operational processes of licensing ARMP 1974; develop integrated and updated pesticide licensing information for effective monitoring purposes.

Additional emphasis was placed on the licensing and enforcement of the Pesticides Act 1974 and the Pesticides Rules (Licensing for Sale and Storage for Sale) 2007.

The aim is to ensure that all premises selling pesticides are licensed and that only registered pesticides are sold, and that pesticides are handled correctly and safely in these premises.

Salmah said the department is ready to provide technical advisory services and agricultural development related to pesticides to all target groups in the state.
