Kota Kinabalu: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has included Inanam, which used to be PBS seat in previous State elections, as among State seats the party aims to contest.
Its Vice-President Datuk Arthur Sen said the party had prepared a list of State seats in Sabah which includes Inanam.

“The PBS Supreme Council has been informed of this list and we will present it to the top leadership of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for further discussion and negotiations with other component parties,” he said.
Arthur, who represented party acting President, said this to Daily Express after officiating the 39th Annual General Meeting of PBS Inanam at a mini hall of Kg Dato, Tobobon, in Manggatal.
He also received 80 new membership forms from Kg Tatahan and mostly youths from Kg Lobou to become new PBS members in Inanam.
ADVERTISEMENT The Inanam seat used to be a PBS stronghold seat during the tenure of former PBS Inanam Assemblyman Datuk Johnny Goh for several terms except for past State Election in 2018, where a PKR candidate won the seat and later joined Star Sabah.
In the previous State Election in 2020, PKR candidate Peto Galim won the Inanam seat defeating other candidates from other parties.
ADVERTISEMENT Earlier in his speech, Arthur, who is also a Special Officer to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor, said the ultimatum of any political organisation is to win in any election and to form the government of the day.
He said no political party including PBS wants to be in the opposition.
“The reality we must face now is that there is no political party can go solo to win to govern the State.
“Just look at the Unity Government at Federal level, it has become a ‘rojak’ (mixed of various political parties) to govern the country.
“There are political parties that used to be an enemy and becomes an opposition, but later they joined hands to form the Federal Government,” he said.
Arthur also urged PBS Inanam leaders and members to stay united and strengthen their commitment and struggle in recruiting new members.
Meanwhile, PBS Inanam Divisional Chief Fredolin Tutin said they hoped that if PBS was allowed to contest the Inanam seat, the candidate must be selected from among the division’s main committee.
