TAMPARULI: Koperasi Pembangunan Desa Saradan (Kopdesa) extended support to a family in Kampung Molisau Tenghilan, Tuesday, following the loss of their home in a fire.

Kopdesa Chairwoman Ireline Damit, along with her team, personally delivered the donations, which included essential items such as rice, food supplies and kitchen necessities.

The fire, which occurred last Friday, completely destroyed the residence of a family of 10.

Ireline said the charitable act reflects Kopdesa members’ commitment to alleviating the hardships faced by the affected family.

“Despite not being Kopdesa members, we feel compelled to assist this family in their time of need,” she said.

Notably, the donated items were sourced entirely through individual contributions from Kopdesa members, without tapping into the cooperative’s funds.

Ireline highlighted that some members even purchased items from Kopdesa’s own Coopmart to contribute.

Expressing her gratitude, Ireline thanked each Kopdesa member for their personal contributions, which made the initiative possible.

The team included key Kopdesa officials, Deputy Chairperson Patrick Pyne Tudus, Treasurer Yatau Ubin, Deputy Treasurer Lucy Batak, and committee members Roslin Liging, Liviana Jilev, Maglin Markus, Agnes Tiwon and Angelin Kahit.
