Young Malaysian esports athlete to invest in unit trust, buy house for parents with US$1mil prize won

Kota Kinabalu: A young Malaysian esports athlete said he planned to invest his US$1 million (RM4.67 million) cash prize in unit trust and buy a house for his parents after winning a championship in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

Muhammad Haqqullah Ahmad Shahru, a Mobile Legends: Bang Bang player representing Yoodo Selangor Red Giants, brought home with his team a trophy and the cash prize from the Mid Season Cup 2024 tournament recently.

Better known as his gaming name Sekyss, the 18-year-old was named the most valuable player in the grand final.

"I will save it in ASB (Amanah Saham Berhad) first, maybe after a while, I will buy a house," he told radio station Era.
