Kota Kinabalu: Sabah will be hosting the WFF (World Fitness Federation) Pro Qualifier Grand Prix Borneo Championship at the Putera Ballroom here on Sunday (July 21).
The competition organised by WFF Malaysia and promoted by WFF Asia is being held for the first time outside Kuala Lumpur.
It will feature Men’s Bodybuilding (Junior below 24 -year-old, Master over 50, below 75kg and above 75kg); Men’s Bermuda Model (Junior below 24, Senior over 40, Short below 175cm and Tall above 175cm); Men’s Sports Model (Short below 175cm and Tall above 175cm); Women’s Sports Model (Short below 163cm and Tall above 163cm); Women’s Bikini Model (First-timer, Short below 163cm and Tall above 163cm) and Men’s Denim Jeans Model (Junior below 24 years old, Short below 175cm and Tall above 175cm).
WFF Malaysia President Dr. Michael Poh who hails from Beaufort assured that it will be a thrilling showcase of athleticism and aesthetics.
“Being a Sabahan, a kampung boy from Beaufort, I am incredibly proud to bring the WFF Pro Qualifier Grand Prix Borneo Championship to Sabah.
“This event will not only highlights the dedication and talent of the competitors but also promotes the importance of fitness and a healthy lifestyle in our community.
“So far, we have received overwhelming support with around 100 entries, and I believe more athletes will register in the coming days before the due date,” he said.
He added that WFF International World President Graeme Lancefield from Australia would be present at the event supported by the Youth and Sports Ministry.
Poh will also be heading the judges panel and other international judges include WFF Singapore president Roslan Mohd Daud, Steve Lee, Goh Xi Jian, Harizon Ramli and Joey Loh, while the chief adjudicator is WFF Asia and WFF Malaysia general secretary Dr. Dickxon Yew.
