Chief Minister thanks TMJ for personal contribution to Sabah FA

Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has thanked Johor Regent Tunku Mahkota Ismail for the latter’s personal contribution to Sabah Football Association (Safa).

Hajiji was granted an audience by His Royal Highness in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

Also present was Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, who is also Safa president.

Hajiji, in his Facebook post, said several important matters were discussed during the meeting, including potential economic opportunities for Sabah and Johor.

This event coincides with its proposed listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities"), scheduled for 30 April 2025.
He said they also touched on implementing Sabah’s football development agenda through collaboration with Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), which is owned by the Johor Regent.

“The close cooperation between Safa and JDT will also focus on efforts to enhance the development of football at the youth level and to unearth talents in remote areas,” he said.
