Over a punishing 1800m turf track (Race 9), the race may throw up a surprise package in Lightning Strike, which has more than a decent chance with international champion jockey Bowman steering.
Race 7 sees Royal Sabah Turf Club (RSTC)’s Kinabalu Light having another stab at Class 5 glory and he last won convincingly on July 7 with a storming home run.
Frenetic is the favourite with Prodigal, Navy Seals and Khao Manee challenging.
“If Kinabalu Light can keep pace with the frontrunners, he has ability to switch gear and finish strong in the last 200m.

“Tambalang Race 3 Class 1 is highlighted for this Saturday’s racing with the battle of royals set to unfold.
“Coronation II, One Kinabalu and Smart Lad are expected to scuffle over 1200m with Brilliant One and Ben challenging while Race 4 Class 3 sees Magic Light tipped to edge Forever Princess, Water Princess and Beautiful Princess,” said in a statement here on Friday.

Saturday also sees the “live” telecast of world-class Australia racing with races from Gold Coast, Belmont Park and Toowoomba.
