PETALING JAYA: A 45-year-old man has been arrested by police for raping his disabled daughter, resulting in the 13-year-old giving birth to a baby.
Dungun police chief Maizura Abdul Kadir said the suspect’s actions were uncovered after his daughter complained of pain in her abdomen and was taken to a government clinic.
“The victim was initially taken to the Ketengah Jaya health clinic, where health officers were shocked to find that she was actually pregnant.
"The child gave birth at 7pm yesterday (Saturday) while being treated at the clinic. She was then sent to Dungun Hospital," Maizura said, according to Sinar Harian.
Police arrested the suspect, a labourer, to assist in the investigation under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape.
" Our preliminary investigation found that the victim had been repeatedly raped by her father since she was 12. The suspect had also been arrested in the past for drug-related offences," Maizura said.
