Barisan Nasional will take back Sabah Government: MCA

SANDAKAN: MCA President Datuk Seri Ir. Wee Kah Siong is confident that Barisan Nasional will be returned as the next government to govern Sabah.

“We have learned from past experiences and are planning a more holistic and inclusive strategy to return to rule Sabah as a trustworthy and authoritative government.

"Our strategy is not only focused on elections, but also on a broader transformation in the delivery of public services, economic development, environmental restoration, and improving the quality of life of Sabahans.

“We promise to make Sabah a better place to live, work and play for every Sabahan,” he said at the 2024 Barisan Nasional (BN) Sabah Convention, here, on Sunday.

Present were BN Chairman Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Sabah BN Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, BN Secretary General Dato Seri DiRaja Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, Sabah MCA Chairman Datuk Teah Heok Kuin, Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) President Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Sabah MIC Secretary S. Chandra Segar, and Sabah Umno Information Chief and organsing chairman of the Sabah BN Convention Organizer, Datuk Suhaimi Nasir.

Wee said Sabah BN played an important role in ensuring that the interests and rights of the people of Sabah are always protected.

"BN Sabah stands firm to defend these rights and fight for the interests of the people at the national level.

“The establishment of Sabah BN began with the aim of uniting the diversity of ethnicity, language and culture in Sabah under one unified flag.

“This diversity is not a challenge, but one of our main strengths in continuing our mission to bring lasting progress to the people of Sabah,” he said.

Wee said the construction of the Pan Borneo Highway Project during Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s administration is an example of how Sabah BN strived to improve infrastructure and accessibility.

"Although this project faced various challenges, opposition and ridicule we never backed down in our efforts to implement this project with excellence.

“This is a clear example of how BN is committed to bring positive change to Sabah through sustainable infrastructure development,” he said.
