Man, 48, found hanged in Sandakan house

SANDAKAN: A 48-year-old man was found hanged in a house in Taman Sibuga, here, early Tuesday.
Acting Sandakan Police Chief Supt Ramasamy Kuppan said they received a call from the public around 6.10am on the discovery of the body.
ADVERTISEMENT “Upon arrival at the scene, police found the body of a man on the stairs of the house.
“Strangulation marks were found on the man’s neck. A black electrical wire about 25 feet long was also found next to the body,” he said.
Ramasamy said the incident happened on the stairway on the ground floor of the two-storey concrete house occupied by the victim and his family.
“It is understood that the victim had not been working since suffering a stroke.
ADVERTISEMENT “The wire allegedly used by the victim to hang himself was an electrical extension wire from the upper floor to the lower floor of the house,” he added.
The body has been sent to the Forensic Unit of the Duchess of Kent Hospital Sandakan for post-mortem.

The case has been classified as sudden death.
