Jiu-jitsu athletes bag seven golds

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association athletes shone at the recent West Japan International Jiu-Jitsu Championship, held in Osaka, Japan on July 21.
The nine-member team who returned home with seven golds, four silvers and four bronzes were Norana Sali, Tiffany Ivy Koh, Vicky Ivy Koh, Tay Sau Hau, Yong Kar Soon, Liew Kim Hoi, Liow Yee Ling, Koh Hon Ming and Alexander Fong.

President Stephen Koh said in a statement on Thursday that they are very proud of their achievement on the international stage.
“It was a remarkable performance from our exponents at the championship. Their hard work and commitment were evident throughout the competition, earning them praise from judges and fellow competitors alike.
“We are incredibly proud of them and it showcased their exceptional talent and dedication to make such a significant impact at the event.
“Their success is a testament to their dedication and the support of our community. We look forward to building on this momentum and continuing to excel in future competitions, ” he said.
