Kota Kinabalu: The launching of direct flights by AirAsia from Bali and Manado in Indonesia to Kota Kinabalu is expected to boost the tourism sector.
Starting Aug. 9, AirAsia would commence three weekly flights from Bali to Kota Kinabalu, followed by flights from Manado to Kota Kinabalu on Sept. 1.

This development underscores a strong commitment and cooperation between Indonesia and Sabah in the tourism industry, said Consul General of Indonesia in Kota Kinabalu, Rafail Walangitan.
Rafail said collaboration between tour and travel agencies from Sabah and Indonesia is vital in creating attractive and high-quality tour packages.
