Vivian wants Shafie to stop ‘false statements’

SANDAKAN: Sandakan MP Vivian Wong slammed Parti Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal for “spreading false statements” regarding her late father Datuk Stephen Wong.
The DAP Central Executive Committee member and Sabah DAP Publicity Secretary also wanted Shafie to withdraw his statement that Stephen wanted to jump ship to Warisan.

Shafie made the remarks at a Parti Warisan get together with the Chinese community at Restoran Kenalanmu Seafood in Sandakan on Saturday night which was broadcast live on Facebook.
She told Shafie to be cautious when issuing statements and not to disturb the peace of other parties in order to achieve a personal agenda.
She said late Stephen was a leader of loyalty and integrity who fought for the welfare of the people and the development of Sabah until his last moment.
ADVERTISEMENT “Shafie should not make this a topic for propaganda that is considered disrespectful to my late father and his fellow leaders.
“My father hated betrayal, especially from his comrades. I feel very disappointed and saddened by Shafie’s actions.”
ADVERTISEMENT She said in the 2020 Sabah State Election, DAP was an ally of Warisan. “But in the 2022 General Elections, we were betrayed. Our former allies continued to contest in DAP constituencies and this is very regrettable.
“In addition, Shafie also accepted former DAP Elopura Assemblyman, Calvin Chong, who betrayed his comrades.”
