Kota Kinabalu: Inanam PGRS Division Chief Datuk Dr Roland Chia said they are committed to following the party’s leadership advice of supporting winnable candidates and maintaining the current political coalition for stability in Sabah.

“I take the advice of the Chief Minister, our PGRS President. The priority is to field a winnable candidate who is popular with the people and can gain broad support,” he said, when asked if PGRS Inanam has any plans of vying for the Inanam seat.

“The main objective is for the current coalition government of GRS (Gabungan Rakyat Sabah) and PH (Pakatan Harapan) to continue working together,” he said after chairing the combined annual general meeting of four branches under the Cenderakasih polling district centre in Inanam, here, Sunday.

"PGRS aims for continuity and political stability in Sabah,” he said.

When it comes to skincare, the first thought on our minds would be beauty products such as serums, creams, and masks. However, beauty experts and even researchers have stated that drinking more water can be just as crucial for your skin's health.
He said while PH had not committed to post-election cooperation, PGRS is committed to staying in the political arena.

“Inanam PGRS Division will support whatever advice is given by our President,” he said.

He also spoke about the complex interplay of development, infrastructure and political engagement that will shape Inanam’s future and PGRS’ role in it.

“The Inanam constituency comprises 11 polling stations and over 50 PGRS branches, representing a diverse demographic with about 20 per cent Chinese, 45 per cent Kadazan-Dusun and the remainder being Muslim Bumiputera residents.

“It is a mixed area comprising urban, semi-urban and rural populations that faces several ongoing issues,” he said.

He said the persistent problem of flooding and landslides, particularly in the constituency’s rural areas is attributed to rapid development and infrastructure projects.

“It’s a semi-legacy issue that’s evolving with the areas development.

“Another significant challenge stems from the substantial increase in foreign direct investment over the past three years,” he said.

He said while positive for economic growth, this had strained existing infrastructure, particularly electricity and water supplies.

He noted that previous administrations lacked long-term planning to accommodate such rapid growth and assured that the State Government had endorsed plans to build new power plants, allowing Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd to increase its generation capacity to meet local demand.
