Dr Mohd Arifin said the construction of SMAN Sandakan is a request that many quarters are looking forward to, not only from the education office but also from the local community.
SANDAKAN: A State Religious Secondary School (SMAN) will be built at the Sungai Batang Education Hub, Batu 10, here, soon.
State Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, who is also the Exco for Islamic affairs and Education, Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif said SMAN would be constructed in an area that had previously been allocated by the State Government for the Sabah Islamic Religious Council (Muis) to build educational infrastructure and a mosque.
ADVERTISEMENT “We have inspected the area which is a 10-acre land site at the Sandakan Education Hub.
“However, we will request from the State Government and the Sandakan Municipal Council to increase the area to 20 acres or more to build a complete SMAN and mosque infrastructure,” he said when visiting the site at Batu 10 Education Hub, Sandakan, recently.
Dr Mohd Arifin said the construction of SMAN Sandakan is a request that many quarters are looking forward to, not only from the education office but also from the local community.
“This is because SMAN is the request of the people here, and thus, we will implement this project under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).
ADVERTISEMENT “Apart from Sandakan, SMAN is also planned to be built in several other districts such as Tawau, Kudat and Kota Marudu,” he said.
In the same visit, Dr Mohd Arifin also visited SK Sibugal Besar, SMK Elopura and Masjid Nurul Hidayah in Kg Sibugal Besar and delivered assistance from Muis and Sabah Baitulmal Corporation.
ADVERTISEMENT Masjid Nurul Hidayah Kampung Sibugal Besar received RM3,000 while SK Sibugal Besar and SMK Elopura each received RM2,000.
