KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor will investigate a watchdog group's claim that nine land listings in online marketplaces advertise the sale of more than 80,000 hectares of rainforest lands in Sabah and Sarawak.
"I will investigate this matter. I have yet to receive information on this," he said after officiating the Sabah Education Department's 12th Academic Excellence Recognition Ceremony (Mekar) 2024 here, Monday.

Hajiji advised the people or public members not to easily believe and be influenced in matters like this but to get the correct information or explanation through the relevant agency or department.
"I hope people don't believe too much in what is posted on social media because much of it is biased and slanderous," he said.
RimbaWatch posted on X on July 26, claiming it identified nine land listings online advertising the sale of more than 80,000 hectares of rainforest in Sabah and Sarawak.
