SANDAKAN: The 28th EERace (Environmental Education Race) course strategically targets youths to continue environmental conservation efforts.
It features 41 participants aged between 21 and 40, including teachers and representatives from agencies involved in environmental education.
ADVERTISEMENT Chief Conservator of Forests, Datuk Frederick Kugan, said EERace is distinctly different from other environmental education courses.
“EERace is designed for participants to gain first-hand experience of conservation efforts in Sabah managed by government agencies, non-governmental organisations, private agencies and local communities.
“Each participant has the potential to effect change in conservation efforts with innovative and creative ideas. With access to a world of information at their fingertips, I believe the people of Sabah will be more aware and responsible towards the environment,” he said.
His speech was read by Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests (Research and Development), Dr Arthur Chung.
