Habitual addict gets jail, rotan

The offence under Section 39C(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act carries a jail term of between five and seven years, and whipping, on conviction.
Kota Kinabalu: A 28-year-old man was jailed five years’ and ordered to be given a stroke of the cane for taking syabu, jailed repeatedly.
Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan handed the sentence to Mohamad Fetri Suradi who pleaded guilty.

Mohamad was tested positive for drug at the Papar police station.
He has two previous conviction records for taking drugs.
The offence under Section 39C(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act carries a jail term of between five and seven years, and whipping, on conviction.
The court ordered Mohamad to serve the jail sentence from the date of his arrest.

After serving the jail sentence, Mohamad was ordered to be placed under police supervision for three years.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Shafeerah Mad Iskim appeared for the prosecution while Mohamad was not represented.
