Entrepreneurs urged to utilise Government programmes

PENAMPANG: Many entrepreneurs do not know or are not interested in applying for existing services such as training and guidance programmes and many more provided by the government, said Kapayan Assemblywoman Jannie Lasimbang.
She said there is also a lot of financial support provided for entrepreneurs, especially in programmes or services from Tabung Ekonomi Kumpulan Usaha Niaga (Tekun) and other agencies.

“I really hope entrepreneurs out there will take the time to learn and take advantage of the opportunities that are available.
“The government made many efforts to help entrepreneurs but many either are not aware or simply not interested with the programmes and assistance provided by the government.”
Jannie said this when officiating a Youth Empowerment Programme organised by the Kapayan Assemblywoman’s office with the cooperation of Institute Keusahawanan Negara Berhad (INSKEN) and Tabung Ekonomi Kumpulan Usaha Niaga (Tekun) in Donggongon.
A total of 30 entrepreneurs from various fields participated in the programme.

“There is also a lot of financial support provided for entrepreneurs, especially in programmes or services from Tekun Nasional.
“I really hope entrepreneurs will take the time to learn and take advantage of the service opportunities that are available.

“There are also small entrepreneurs who meet me regarding financial problems. Hence, with this programme, I hope to be able to help because knowledge is the key to our continued success,” Jannie said.
According to her, there are many existing skills in the field of business but to strengthen the skills, many traders do not have time to do it.
Hence, she said her office took the initiative to help these entrepreneurs by organising the programme.
Jannie said the increase in the number of entrepreneurs nowadays is one of the reasons why many small entrepreneurs have to close their businesses.
“But, for me, what is important is planning. Sufficient knowledge is one of the keys to business survival and progress,” she said.
In the programme, five outstanding entrepreneurs with their business ideas were given Tab X9 (tablet) for each group member.
