Man jailed 12 years for breaking into Japanese restaurant, house

The court heard that Mohamaad was arrested during the Ops Pintu/Kesan/Mega.
SANDAKAN: A 38-year-old man was jailed a total of 12 years for breaking into a Japanese restaurant here and a house.
Sessions Court Judge Zaini Fishir @ Fisal meted out the sentence to Mohamaad Erwan Asula who pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
ADVERTISEMENT On the first count, Mohamaad was jailed seven years for trespassing on the Japanese restaurant in Mile 7, here, at 9.45am on Sept 11, 2023.
On the second count, he was sentenced to five years’ jail for breaking into a house in Bukit Nenas, here, at 6am on May 4, 2023
The court ordered Mohamaad to serve the jail sentences concurrently from the date of his arrest.
The court heard that Mohamaad was arrested during the Ops Pintu/Kesan/Mega.
ADVERTISEMENT In the first incident, the owner of the restaurant had suffered about RM800 in losses as the cash kept in the restaurant was stolen as well as some damaged property during the break-in of the restaurant.
Meanwhile the second incident happened while the owner was sleeping when he heard his daughter shouted “thief”.

During the incident, there was a fight between the daughter and Mohamaad but Mohamaad managed to run away with two handphones worth RM1,000.
