TAWAU: A contractor claimed trial to six counts of using fake documents as geuine to obtain quotations for repair and maintenance works of two schools valued at RM200,000 in Tawau in 2020.
Jumadil Iggoh, 61, made the plea before Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga, after the charges were read to him on Tuesday.
On the first to third counts, Jumadil is accused of using three fake bank statements of Bank Islam under the Syarikat Lima Construction belonging to Jumadil for June, July and August 2020.
The charges stated that Jumadil had used the fake documents to get the quotation for repairing works and building maintenance of SMK Kinabutan II, under the 2020 Prihatin Economic Stimulus Package (PPE).
On the fourth to sixth counts, he allegedly used the fake bank statements for April, May and June 2020 to obtain the quotation for repair works and mantainance of teacher’s quarters and houses of Sk Andrassy.
The offences allegedly took place at the Tawau District Education Office on Oct 14, 2020.
The offence under Section 471/468 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to two years, or with fine, on conviction.
The offered him bail of RM10,000 with RM3,000 deposited in a local surety and set Sept 26 this year for mention.
Jumadil was also ordered to report to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office once in two months and warned to not tamper with the prosecution witnesses.
MACC Prosecuting Officer Rekraj Singh prosecuted while counsel Abdul Ghani Zelika defended Jumadil.
