PETALING JAYA: The Johor Bahru sessions court has ordered that the younger sister of the man accused of attacking the Ulu Tiram police station receive medical treatment, after she exhibited symptoms of depression.

Judge Rasidah Roslee made the order after lawyer Faizal Rahman requested that 19-year-old Mariah Radin Imran be referred to hospital, Berita Harian reported.

Faizal said Mariah had displayed symptoms of depression when he met her and four family members at the Simpang Renggam prison late last month.

Deputy public prosecutor Fazeedah Faik did not object to the application. She also requested that a new mention date be fixed for the case pending the preparation of a report by a terrorism expert.
