Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor hopes that there will be no confusion especially over the celebrations of National Day and Sabah Day on Aug. 31.

Sabah Day will be a point of unification of people of various races to jointly develop this state, he said according to a statement.

He added that Sabah Day also commemorates the day that marked the end of British rule in Sabah on August 31, 1963, and the beginning of self-governance and formation of Malaysia.

"We want the people, especially the young generation, to know more about the history of not only celebrating National Day but also Sabah Day," he said during an event here Thursday.
