Kota Kinabalu: A father who initially expressed regret over what he perceived was indifference by a State Ministry towards his daughter’s participation in an international competition said she will not be going for the event in China after all.
He said despite the State Government’s offer to sponsor his violinist daughter’s participation, the event clashed with her exam week.

Danny Thien, 52, had earlier lamented to the Daily Express of his struggle in raising the funds needed for her to participate in the New Age Brilliant Young International Talent finals in Guangzhou on Aug. 11.
His plight received immediate attention of the State Government which was willing to contribute to Demetria Thien Yi’s cause either through her school in Jalan Damai or any association.
