Kota Kinabalu: The Communications Ministry has introduced the One House One Jalur Gemilang (1R1JG) initiative to stir up the spirit of the National Month celebration.
Sabah Information Department (JaPen) Assistant Director (Campaigns) of Communication Services and Community Development Division Edi Rizam Kassim said the initiative was introduced as an effort to enliven the spirit of this year’s National Month celebrations.

He said the initiative was also carried out at the State level with the same goal of inviting the people to fly the National and State flags not only in their homes but also in public places.
“On this occasion we, on behalf of Sabah JaPen, call on the community to play our role as responsible citizens and love the country, by flying the Jalur Gemilang and the Sabah flag perfectly.
“It is requested that every flag that is flown is in perfect condition, that is, the flag is not torn and not worn,” he said during the interview session of the Kupi-Kupi FM’s “Morning Kinabalu” segment by DJ Niz and Felix, Wednesday.
He explained that various activities had been planned by various agencies involved, including Sabah JaPen, for the National Month celebration this year, among them, the Program Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang (KMJG) to be flagged off by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at the Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) Building compound here on Aug 1.
“Also will be held is the Program Merdeka @ Komuniti at the Parliamentary and State constituency levels from Aug 1 to Sept 16.
“The Program Pentarama X Kelab Malaysiaku, Sabah State-level Karnival Kita Madani will be held in Membakut on Aug 8 to 10 while the Simfoni Jiwa Merdeka in Kalabakan on Aug 16.
“Apart from JaPen, the Broadcasting Department through RTM, the Sabah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (Jheains) and the State Youth and Sports Ministry (KBSS) are also promoting the National Month Celebration through their respective programmes,” he said.
Sabah JaPen Principal Assistant Director of Media and Corporate Communications Division Dr Diana Dominic and Sabah JaPen Secretariat Principal Assistant Director Siti Mariam Aziz were also present.
